Basic Understanding of Mental Health Diagnoses and Behaviors
Summary of training: Foundation session increases awareness of diagnoses made by mental health professionals concerning child welfare provider’s clients and/or their caregivers. Presents a basic overview to aid child welfare providers to better understand child and family interaction, common behaviors and feelings, and areas for skill building. Includes new updates to DSM-V. Practical application session will review a diagnosis made by mental health professionals and presents a basic overview. This training will focus on the practical application when responding to behaviors that youth with various diagnosis exhibits.
